Views & Display

The calendar renders in three views, switchable by visitors, with a separate default for mobile and full control over how each event line reads.

The three views

• Month — the classic grid. Each day shows up to your "Events Per Day" count as pills, with a "+X more" button opening a popup listing that day's full schedule. Day cells grow to fit their events, and every cell in a week row stays equal height.
• List — a chronological list of events for the current month, one row per event.
• Agenda — upcoming events from today forward, capped by the Agenda View Event Limit. An event that is still running counts as upcoming, so a multi-day event stays listed until it ends.

Set the starting view with Default View Type (View Settings section). Visitors change views with the view switcher buttons in the calendar header — turn the switcher off with Show View Switcher if you want to lock a single view.

Mobile

Mobile View Type picks a different default view below 768px — List is the default there, since month grids are cramped on phones. The switcher still works on mobile unless you've hidden it.

Event display format

Event Display Format controls what each event line shows:

The setting applies to all three views and to the "+X more" popup in month view.

Upgrading from 1.4.1 or earlier

Before 1.4.2 this setting only took effect in month view — list and agenda view always printed both the title and the time. If you set it once, saw no change, and left it alone, it will start taking effect in those views after updating.

All-day events (stored by Voxel as 00:00–23:59) are detected automatically and shown as "All Day" instead of a time range.

Past events

Past Events (Display Settings) decides what happens to events whose date has already gone by:

Option	Effect
Show	Past events render normally. This is the default.
Dim	Past events stay visible but faded, so the month still reads as a full calendar.
Hide	Past events are removed, leaving only what's still to come.

It applies to month and list view. Agenda view has always shown upcoming events only, so it is unaffected.

An event counts as past only once it has ended — a multi-day event running across today is never treated as past. In list view, hiding happens before the List View Event Limit is applied, so a month of finished events won't use up your row count.

Set how faded "Dim" looks with Past Event Opacity under Style > Event Items.

Boosted events

If you use Voxel's promotions to boost listings, the calendar picks that up. A post with an active promotion is marked as boosted wherever it appears — month, list, agenda, and the "+X more" popup.

Two settings control it:

• Boosted Events First (Display Settings) lifts boosted events above the others on the same day, in every view. Where several boosted events share a day, the higher promotion priority comes first. Off by default.
• Style > Boosted Events sets their background, text color, border, and an accent edge with its own color and width. The accent is drawn inside the event, so switching it on won't shift your layout.

Only an active promotion counts. An expired promotion, or a post priority set by other means, is not treated as a boost.

Styling

Every part of the calendar — container, header, navigation buttons, day headers, day cells, event pills, the "+X more" indicator, boosted events, and the view switcher — has its own style section in the Elementor Style tab, with the usual colors, typography, spacing and border controls, including Normal/Hover/Active states where they apply.
